For our last day of walking, we treated ourselves to garlic mushrooms on toast for brekkie. If you haven’t tried these yet, start now. You’ll never want to go back to cereal.
We then drove 3 miles up the road to the Kirkton of Glenisla car park, and followed the Cateran Trail southwards so that we could look across the valley at the holiday cottage. Whilst the day had started with a little rain, the sun soon came out, and we were able to enjoy our picnic lunch.
We were both pleased that we’d saved this walk until the final day. The Autumn colours looked glorious in the sunshine, and from the hilltop we had 360 degree views of Glen Isla. I do love the Scottish hills and mountains at this time of year, so am always surprised that so few people visit outside of the Summer season.
